Slow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art. When people look slowly at a piece of art they make discoveries. The most important discovery they make is that they can see and experience art without expertise. It unlocks passion and creativity and helps to create more art lovers.
One day each year – April 8 in 2017 – people all over the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly and share their experience. Simple by design, the goal is to focus on the art and the art of seeing.
On April 8, the museum is featuring the All-City High Schools’ Senior Show, on view through April 22.
Admission to the City of Las Cruces Museums are free. The museums are located on the downtown mall and are open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: museums.las-cruces.org.
If you need an accommodation for a disability to enable you to fully participate in this event, please contact the museum 48 hours prior to the event.
