Join the Branigan Cultural Center on Saturday, January 12th, for Houseplant Appreciation Day from 10am to 1pm.

The holidays are over and the decorations are put away for another year. Now it’s time to get ready for spring!  Houseplant Appreciation Day was first celebrated by the Gardner’s Network to remind people of the benefits of houseplants – plus, they are a great way to brighten your home against the mid-winter blues. Learn to make a self-watering planter from a water bottle or seed paper to throw in your garden. If you find you aren’t adept at keeping plants alive, learn to make an origami cactus that will look nice year-round.

Receive a plant cutting to take home to brighten those nooks and crannies in your house. Supplies are limited and on a first come, first served basis.

The Branigan Cultural Center is located at 501 N. Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm.
