Brown Bag Lecture, April 11, 12 p

The Las Cruces Railroad Museum hosts a free Brown Bag Lecture at 12pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. On April 11, Dr. Peter Kopp will present “A History of Hops and the Craft Beer Revolution.”

Kopp is an Assistant Professor of History at New Mexico State University, and serves at the Director of the Public History Program. He specializes in environmental and agricultural history, the North American West, and public history.

His first book, Hoptopia: A World of Agriculture of Beer in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, was published in 2016. He is currently working on a biography of Fabian Garcia, who is known as the Father of New Mexico Chile.

Admission to the Railroad Museum is free! The museum is located at 351 N. Mesilla Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm and Saturday 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: museums.las-cruces.org or call (575) 647-4480.
