STEAMpunk: Isaac Newton and the Laws of Motion, Dec. 15

December 12, 2018

The Museum of Nature & Science presents “STEAMpunk – Isaac Newton” Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11:45am. The program is free and open to the public. The content and activities are intended for ages 7-12.

Sir Isaac Newton was an English mathematician, astronomer, and physicist.  Known as one of the most influential scientists of all time, his description of the laws of motion laid the foundation for modern mechanics. Newton used these laws to explain and investigate the motion of many physical objects and systems. “STEAMpunk” participants will observe the laws of motion in action by making your own Newton’s Cradle.

“STEAMpunk” is offered monthly, highlighting the work of an historic scientist through hands on exploration.

The Museum of Nature & Science is located at 411 N. Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm, and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call (575) 522-3120.
