STEAMpunk – Granville Woods, Inventor and Engineer, Nov. 17

The Museum of Nature & Science presents, “STEAMpunk – Granville Woods,” Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:45am. The program is free and open to the public. The content and activities are intended for ages 7-12.

Granville1Granville Woods was an American inventor and engineer who is most known for inventing the multiplex telegraph, a crucial development in transportation and communication. His telegraph allowed train stations to communicate with moving trains, making train transport much safer. Participants will learn about Woods’ contributions to communication and transportation through demonstrations and hands on activities.

“STEAMpunk” is offered monthly, highlighting the work of an historic scientist through hands on exploration.

The Museum of Nature & Science is located at 411 N. Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call (575) 522-3120.
