December 14, 2013

Branigan Cultural Center LogoThe Branigan Cultural Center presents the exhibits, Toys and Dolls: The May/Warner Collection and Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War.  Both exhibits began on Friday, December 6 and conclude on Saturday, January 25, 2014.  Toys and Dolls is a celebration of this important portion of the museum’s permanent collection donated by Nancy Ann and Gerald Warner. Dolls include Nancy Anns, Madame Alexanders, and other dolls from the 1940s and 1950s. The exhibit is enhanced by recollections of the dolls and the importance they had during Nancy Ann Warner’s childhood.

In conjunction with Toys and Dolls and the Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War exhibitions, the Branigan Cultural Center will offer a morning of doll-making using traditional materials accessible in the Civil War era on Friday, January 3rd, from 10-11:30am. The workshop is free and open to the public and all materials will be provided. Each participant will create a doll to take home and will have the chance to create clothing and a style for their doll.

The Branigan Cultural Center is located at 501 North Main Street. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For more information, contact the Branigan Cultural Center at (575) 541-2154 or visit the Center’s website at
